Ultra high speed VCSELs for data center applications (collaboration with Meir Orenstein)

Data center requirements have reached levels of hundreds of Gbit/s – rates that no conventional devices can offer. New structures based on coherently coupled devices as well as the use of new materials will lead to the desired speeds. This project includes also new electro optic techniques to characterize such fast devices.
